## Head of Inventory Control & Receiving (Salt Lake City) A growing third-party logistics (3PL) fulfillment operation is hiring a Head of Inventory Control & Receiving for its Salt Lake City warehouse. This department-head seat owns inbound receiving, inventory accuracy, cycle counting, and the day-to-day operational discipline that keeps a 3PL customer base happy. The right person is a proactive problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes complete ownership of inventory accuracy and operational efficiency. ### Key responsibilities - **Receiving operations:** oversee inbound shipments, inventory verification, receiving accuracy, and timely putaway - **Inventory control:** maintain accurate inventory records, locations, quantities, and SKU information within the WMS - **Cycle counts:** build and manage daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counting programs to ensure inventory accuracy - **Discrepancy resolution:** investigate inventory shortages, overages, and discrepancies; identify root causes and implement corrective actions - **Process improvement:** establish SOPs, streamline workflows, and improve receiving and inventory management efficiency across the operation - **Team leadership:** manage, train, and hold receiving and inventory personnel accountable for performance and accuracy - **Reporting & accountability:** track inventory accuracy, receiving productivity, and cycle count completion; continuously improve performance against those metrics ### Who we're looking for - Direct experience leading a receiving and inventory team inside a 3PL, high-volume ecommerce fulfillment, or distribution environment - Working mastery of at least one modern WMS (ShipHero, Extensiv, NetSuite, Fishbowl, or equivalent); comfortable managing cycle count programs inside the system - Proven track record building SOPs and cycle count disciplines from scratch or dramatically improving an existing program - Strong people manager: coaching, accountability, and performance tracking across floor staff - Analytical mindset: comfort with Excel-level reporting on inventory accuracy, receiving throughput, and discrepancy trending - Floor-first operator who leads from the warehouse, not from the office ### Preferred - Prior "Head of" / department-head experience in a 3PL - Direct exposure to Shopify, TikTok Shop, Amazon FBA, or other ecommerce order flows - Experience building a cycle count program from the ground up at a growing operation ### The seat - Location: Salt Lake City, UT (on-site) - Full-time, salaried direct hire - Compensation: $65,000 - $85,000 base, plus performance bonus tied to inventory accuracy and cycle count completion - Benefits package included
