## Trucking Company Dispatcher — Drayage (Houston, TX) A leading drayage provider with assets and terminals across most of the major U.S. ports and rail yards is hiring an experienced Dispatcher for its Houston operation. The company's clientele includes several JOC Top 100 importers, and the team runs on fast execution, clean customer communication, and strong operational discipline. ### Position overview We are seeking an experienced Dispatcher with a strong background in the drayage industry. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of managing complex transportation operations to ensure timely and efficient delivery of import / export containers. Candidates should have excellent communication skills, the ability to problem solve, multi-task, and be a strong team player. ### Responsibilities - Schedule appointments with terminals for container pickups - Schedule appointments and follow-ups with clients - Assign deliveries to drivers - Manage constant tracking of drivers to ensure on-time deliveries - Provide excellent customer service through phone and email communication with clients and operations teams - Track equipment and update records in the company's custom portal - Track and trace container shipments via terminal portals - Oversee daily terminal operations - General office duties and other duties as assigned ### Qualifications - 3+ years of experience in dispatch operations within the drayage and logistics transportation industry - Strong understanding of port operations, terminal procedures, and transportation logistics - Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills - Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced, dynamic environment - Strong logistics and dispatching skills - Excellent phone etiquette - Familiarity with transportation management systems and technology - Ability to analyze data and plan transportation effectively ### Experience requirements - Drayage / Port: 3 years (required) - Terminal operations: 3 years (preferred) ### The seat - Location: Houston, TX 77020 (on-site, must commute daily) - Full-time, W-2 direct hire - Compensation: $70,000 - $80,000 per year - Benefits: health, dental, vision, PTO
