Operations & Administration Manager

An established international freight forwarder in central New Jersey is hiring an Operations and Administration Manager to own the operational backbone of the business. This is a hybrid role that combines process discipline, internal audit, HR, and bookkeeping into a single seat, so the right person is someone who thrives in a wear-many-hats environment and enjoys being the connective tissue across the company. This is an on-site role at the Ocean Township, NJ office. What you will do • Review and continuously improve overall company workflows, updating documentation as processes evolve • Own individual process flows by department, keeping each one current and auditable • Run internal random audits on operations to ensure compliance with U.S. timelines and industry guidelines • Manage the onboarding of new employees from paperwork through first-week ramp • Process weekly payroll, tracking vacation, personal, and sick time accurately • Calculate weekly sales commissions and coordinate with sales leadership on any exceptions • Maintain training manuals for each department, updating as tools or processes change • Review and update the employee handbooks for multiple affiliated companies under the umbrella What we are looking for • Prior experience in an operations, office management, or administrative-manager seat at a freight forwarder, 3PL, or similar logistics operator (strongly preferred) • QuickBooks (Intuit) proficiency is required, not optional • Comfortable running payroll and commission calculations weekly with zero drama • Strong process orientation, detail obsession, and the discipline to keep documentation current • Confident with HR fundamentals: onboarding paperwork, handbook maintenance, PTO tracking • Self-directed, dependable, and comfortable being the person the company relies on to keep it running • Willingness and ability to work on-site in Ocean Township, NJ daily Compensation is competitive and based on experience.
